In this paper, a two-dimensional battery stationary model was created based on a series of conservative equations and electrochemical reactions processes to study the performance of iron-vanadium redox flow battery with containing deep eutectic solvent (DES). The effects of the temperature on the over-potential, ion concentration, local current density and pump power loss of the battery were studied. Through the analysis of the simulation results, it is found that with the increasing of temperature, the over-potential decreases; As for the ions, the temperature rise makes the distribution of the ion in the electrode more uniform, meansing that the utilization of the electrode is increases; For the DES electrolyte with higher viscosity, the pump power loss should be non-negligible. Combined with Darcy's law, it is found that the pumping power of the entire porous electrode decreased reduced from 0.158W at the 25℃ to 0.028W at the 55℃, which is reduced by (around 82.3% reduction). The model simulation agrees well with the experimental results. So it can be used to predict battery performance and further develop the DES flow battery. AuthorWrite something about yourself.
